Minors’ accounts may be opened with as little as $0.25 and are a great way to teach children about saving.
We operate a Mini-Credit Union Branch at Lakeview Middle School during student lunches, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. The purpose of the Mini-Branch is to help assist parents and teachers in training their students on how to save money. Students have the opportunity to work at the Mini-Branch as a teller, book keeper, and/or auditor.
April is National Credit Union Youth Month
In April 2018, we will be participating in the National Youth Savings Challenge. Penny the Fox invites all children under the age of 18 who make a deposit during the month of April to be eligible for weekly prizes here at any branch of the credit union. CUNA, Credit Union National Association, is doing a grand prize drawing of $1,000 if our credit union is selected. If our credit union wins, we will then do a drawing out of the kids that made deposits in their account in April. There will be multiple winners!
We will also be doing our own grand prize drawing for the month of $25. This is open to any youth that have made at least one deposit during the month of April. More deposits mean better chances at winning the grand prize.
Stop in and join us as we celebrate this exciting month to help teach kids the importance and value of saving!
National Youth Saving Challenge – Rules
The National Youth Saving Challenge is FREE and open to all youth under 18 who visit a participating credit union during April. While youth are encouraged to make a deposit at the credit union, no deposit is required to enter.
Parents/guardians giving permission for their youth to enter can submit on a 3″ x 5″ piece of paper (or fill out the entry form provided at the CFFCU) the following information to the credit union:
- Current age
Limit one entry per person.
Odds of winning depend on number of entrants. This contest is void where prohibited.
In May, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) will randomly select and give a $1,000 grand prize to a participating credit union. That credit union will then randomly select a winner(s) from its entrants. Your credit union will notify you if you are a winner.
